Many Faces - R.P.Smith
“The skillful artist has the ability to channel their influences to create a new, unprecedented work of art.
In his debut album, R.P.Smith showcases his musical evolution from listener to artist. The classic sounds of rock music and fusions of modern genres reflect as many faces as the album's cover and title suggest as this project finds cohesion in its stylistic variation over 9 tracks and 25 minutes.
While R.P.Smith is making a name for himself as a do-it-yourself creator, Many Faces is the product of what can happen when you do-it-together.”

“Callouses”
This debut single is both a reflection and reimagination of the music that inspired it. Callouses combines the hard hitting sounds of riff-heavy rock and "hard working man" songs with lyrics that reflect the genre's reality and embrace the insecurities of a new artist.
SEDVTED's production gives the track an unmistakable energy and direction through its rapid progression and chaotic guitar solo. Wrapped up as a love letter to the instrument that started it all for R.P.Smith, this song is a proud beginning of the ready2start music catalogue.

“Garden City”
The second single from Many Faces is a unique blend of rock and pop that tells a story as it unfolds. This track began as a simple acoustic ode to New Jersey, but transformed into something much more interesting when JLang joined.
His clean production style and inclusion of synths, vocal chops, and alien-grade distortion brought the instrumental breakdowns of Garden City to life. These elements, combined with multiple guitars and vocals bring the progression of this track to an epic crescendo that could have only been created in a Garden State apartment.

“Igniam” & “Taurus”
Igniam is an acoustic folk rock powerhouse on the struggle of the soul. With guitars, mandolins, harmonicas, and featured violin and vocal talent, this track embodies an epic sound of absolution by fire.
Taurus, on the other hand, is a slow and sweet ballad of a life of shared love. Smooth electric guitars, live drums, basslines, and piano relay a feeling of pure connection. But much like love, this song’s instrumental breakdown is bittersweetness you must hear to experience.
Laguna transitions the sonic vibe between these two songs with a melancholy interlude of acoustic riffs and found sounds as the middle of this album revitalizes the music of days past.
“Blood Eagle”
Blood Eagle is a hard rock anthem that brings Many Faces to its sonic peak. Heavy guitars and drums, buzzing bass, and lyrics about surrounding power structures stand out in this extrospective track. Featured vocal talent, unique production choices, and subtle dissonance also add to the listening experience.
These sounds contrast the song’s intro, Rising, which begins as a moody acoustic number that builds into a compelling instrumental with watery distorted guitars. This entire track builds its momentum over nearly six minutes to bring R.P.Smith’s debut album to crashing completion.
“Style”
Style serves as the warm and sweet epilogue of Many Faces - a calming outro to follow the excitement of R.P.Smith’s debut album.
Thick layered guitars and heavily modified vocals hold your ear and bid you farewell while reminding you that whatever you are doing - do it right. With electronic drum sounds that connect back to Faces, the album’s opener, Style brings this project full circle.
Included in this video is also JLang’s YouTube-exclusive remix - an uptempo, down-pitched house flip that brings new sounds to the table while staying true to the vibe of the extended release of Many Faces.
“Callouses (Remix)”
The remix of Callouses is a collaboration between R.P.Smith and Whitefeld Jennings - a wild new take on the song that started it all. This track is short and stacked: a minute and a half of straight bars.
Whitefeld Jennings, a hard worker and an absolute beast of a lyricist, brings true callused grit to a song that originally commented on the ironic disparity between singers’ lyrics and their real lives.

“Blood Eagle (Remix)”
The remix of Blood Eagle is a total reimagination of the original song. We started from the ground up with a new layered acoustic guitar riff, electric tones reminiscent of tolling bells, and a trap beat with rolling kicks and 808s.
Virginia rapper tdk brings an unmatched energy and delivery to his verses that breathe new life into this track. While original chorus vocals and live drum fills connect this song to its predecessor, Blood Eagle (Remix) carves out its own place in the extended release of Many Faces.

“ready2start”
R.P.Smith x JLang
A collaboration of rock & roll sounds and digital production
JLang utilizes guitar tracks and vocal samples to produce a truly one of a kind song. Rich riffs set the tone before echoing drum hits pulse movement into the sound.
The guitar loops then take a backseat to a unique chop and an electrifying synthesizer. Bringing all these elements together, ready2start develops into a grand finale to “finish it up” for Faces (DELUXE).
